Pricing
How much does a measured building survey cost?
By the Section Scale team · Published 7 November 2026
The short answer
Every measured survey is priced individually, and every quote we give is a fixed price agreed before we visit. The factors below are what move the price.
What affects the price
- Size of the building and the number of floors
- Which drawings you need: floor plans only, or elevations and sections too
- Level of detail, from a simple layout to every socket and radiator
- Access and complexity on site, such as listed features or restricted areas
- File formats: AutoCAD drawings, a Revit model or a point cloud
How to keep the cost down
Be clear about what the drawings are for. A lettings floor plan needs far less detail than drawings for a basement extension, and paying for the higher level when you only need the lower one is the most common way people overspend.
If you or your architect draw in your own software, consider ordering the point cloud only. You get the full measured data at a lower cost and draw only what you need.
