3D laser scanning and point cloud surveys
A 3D laser scanner records a building or site as millions of precisely measured points. The result, a point cloud, is a complete digital record you can measure from, draw from and revisit without going back to site.
What you receive
- Registered point cloud in standard formats such as .e57 and .rcp
- Scan positions tied together with survey control
- Colour imagery captured with the scan where useful
- Optional drawings or a Revit model produced from the data
When you need one
- Complex, historic or listed buildings where detail matters
- Large commercial buildings and industrial sites
- Projects where several consultants need the same base data
- You want to draw the building yourself in your own software
How we do it
We scan from multiple positions and register the scans together against survey control, then check coverage on site so there are no gaps and no return visit is needed.
Questions
Can I order just the point cloud?
Yes. If you draw in your own software, the point cloud on its own costs less than a full drawing set.
What software opens a point cloud?
AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks and most other design software can import point clouds in the formats we deliver.
